Hand forged Scandinavian Leuku with Red Deer antler, Rams horn and Scottish whisky barrel handle.(Outdoors knife, Camping, Fishing & Adventure).

Our Leukus are traditionally hand forged from high carbon 1084 Sheffield Steel in our outdoor workshop with a Brut de Forge finish. Once forging is completed, the blade goes through a heat treating and tempering cycle to give a reliable but sharp edge, adding to the authentic Scottish blacksmithing experience.

The design is my own interpretation of an outdoors knife combining Scandinavian and Scottish bush craft practices to give an aesthetic but very practical tool - a modern knife made for being in the field.

My inspiration comes from historical examples of Highlander cutlery, adapted for modern outdoor requirements. The Leuku or Lap knife is a traditional knife designed to be a multi- purpose tool that is capable of all tasks from light chopping, brush clearing and butchering tasks as well as being used as a substitute for axe work.

Drawing inspiration from Scandinavian design this classic tool will never go out of style.

The handle is crafted from 100 year old Scottish whisky barrel, Rams horn and Red Deer antler creating a hard-wearing and comfortable handle.

It comes with a hand made Leuku-bushcraft style sheath, crafted from UK leather embossed with antler camouflage pattern. The belt loop ensures that you never loose it.

It makes an ideal companion on outdoor adventures and a wicked talking point around the campfire.
